How to Overcome Investor Procrastination

Are you like me…a bit of a procrastinator?

I know you get a lot done. You wouldn’t be where you are if you didn’t, but are there things you have decided to do that are just not getting done?

You’ve achieved a lot.

You made that decision to get that degree, and you moved forward and got it. You decided what job you wanted, and eventually, you got there. You are making the money you make because you decided what you wanted — believe it or not.

I know that many of you realize that you need and want multiple streams of income, and you even decided you would work for it.

Then the next question came: how am I going to do it?

If you are like me, you feel that you need to study and understand whatever it is you’ve decided. You need to know how to do it. It can be a slow process.

What if instead of asking “how”, you asked “who can help me or who can do this for me?”

I know…it’s not at all how I usually think either…but perhaps we should be asking ourselves this question

I started reading Who Not How by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy. Dan Sullivan is the founder of Strategic Coach. Chapter 2 talks about procrastination and all of the negative points that we’ve all known about procrastination.

Then, there was a surprise. They talked about procrastination as wisdom. Procrastination is us knowing that we do not know how to achieve what we’ve decided. When this happens we should shift our thinking. Ask “who” can help me achieve the goal.

Think of the things that you have accomplished.

How many did you do all by yourself? I dare say, not many. Even back to learning to ride a bike. Most of us had a “who” running beside us, picking us up, encouraging us, till we got it right. Then they cheered and smiled and celebrated the victory!

Think of something that you have decided to do that you’re not yet doing. When I did this, I found that it was true… I did not know how to do it. At that moment, I started thinking about looking for my “who.”

What have you decided to do, and what goal have you set for yourself? Be very clear.

Now, who can help you?
