Well, here we are at the start of a new year. How do you feel about this “fresh” start? I will admit that I have mixed feelings, and the not-so-positive ones often lead the way.
Last year ended with me feeling tired and burned out. I could have stayed in bed for the previous two weeks, but circumstances would not allow it. I realized that I was not taking care of myself as well as I could. I thought I was doing well by getting into an exercise routine, eating better, and sleeping reasonably well, but I was tired.
I did take some time away from my usual circumstances to feel better, but I did not relax. I may have even made those around me feel a bit of what I was feeling, and they were much too gracious to say anything more than, “you have got to let some of that stuff go, relax!”.
Now we’re two weeks into the new year, and I think I get it. It is up to me to feel better. I have to do the things that I know will help me, and if I can’t figure it out, I need to have others help me remember, whether they be friends or professionals.
I started reading Rachel Roger’s book; We Should All Be Millionaires. This morning, I opened up to a random page and read this: “How you feel makes you money”.
Rachel goes on to say, “..feeling states are better determinants of our success outcomes than numbers. If you feel like a Million Dollar Badass every day, then you will likely become a Million Dollar Badass relatively quickly…”
Hmm, how you feel is more important than anything else in becoming successful. Let that sink in.
This makes sense! When you feel good, you are much more likely to do things you have to force yourself to do when not feeling good. While reading this, my words for 2022 came to me. I had been thinking about it, but nothing felt right until now. My words this year are “self-care” and “socialize”.
Have you chosen your word for 2022? What do you want to create for yourself this year intentionally?
If increasing or improving your social circle is one of your desires, like mine, let’s do it together! You can even help make sure that I am doing my self-care, keep me accountable.
I am launching a 7-Step Mastermind in the next few months. It will be a small, intimate group, meeting weekly to discuss moving forward financially and hold ourselves accountable for our feelings about ourselves and our progress.
I am looking forward to getting started. If you are interested in being a part of this group, sign up to keep up to date.
Until then, remember: How you feel makes you money!
