How to Invest in Others and Pick Your 2022 Word of the Year

It’s the time of year when we REALLY get down to gratitude. Being grateful has been scientifically proven to improve so many aspects of our lives, and we’re told to practice it daily.

Have to admit… I forget to be intentional about it. There are days when I just get up, get going, and forget to be grateful for anything. When I reflect, I realize those days tend to be less enjoyable than the days that I remember to be grateful for what I have, who I am, and the family and friends in my life.

Abeer Fahim quoteKindness is the act that my friend, Dr Michelle Robin, heavily encourages to her patients. Kindness also has many positive health benefits, including decreasing blood pressure and changing, for the better, many of the hormones that regulate our bodies. If you haven’t already, listen to Dr. Robin’s episode on the Money With Mission Podcast, where we dive in further on how you can make changes in the various quadrants of your health to prepare you to build wealth.

It has been difficult for many to remember to practice gratitude and kindness in the past couple of years. Many things have happened that may make you feel cynical about everything.

Remember, practicing gratitude and kindness are choices. You choose how you want to feel and how you want to show up in the world. Today, let’s all decide to show up with gratitude and kindness (even to those you disagree with).

John f Kennedy quoteNow, I want to express my appreciation to all of you who support me on my journey. Those of you who send ideas and constructive criticisms help to make Money With Mission better. Keep them coming! Our goal is to serve and help you improve your financial bottom line while you change the world through your financial investments.

Thank you to my team, the behind-the-scenes folks, without whom I would not look nearly as good. You guys are super amazing!

Thank you to my podcast guests. I have learned so much from all of you and look forward to continuing our relationships.

I am grateful for the year that has passed, the days that I felt like the smartest person and the days that I felt like… “wait, what?” So much has happened, and I can’t even begin to tell you.

I have been challenged like you wouldn’t believe, as I know so many of you have. Together, let’s look back and be grateful. We made it, we learned, we are better for those challenges.

Speaking of feeling, how do you want to feel most of the time? I forget this concept that my friend, Monique Halm, reminds me of regularly. We even talked about this in her featured episode on the podcast. If you know how you want to feel, you will better understand what you want to do.

I want to feel happiness and contentment. It looks like kindness and gratitude are my words for 2022… what word or words do you want to focus on in the new year? How do you want to show up for your life this year? How do you want to serve others?

Another way you can serve others is through social impact investing, and you can learn more about it in this free report on the Money With Mission website. If you’re ready to invest in opportunities that not only provide a financial return but also improve lives and the world around us, book a call with me to learn more.

I look forward to bringing more light into this world together as we give thanks this holiday season!
