Increase your passive income with Money with Mission

According to an article from the Center for American Progress, 41% of the time a mother is the sole earner in the family and it is also more common for this woman to be the one to take time from work to care for an ill family member. According to an article in Family Caregiver Alliance: “… the value of the informal care that women provide ranges from $148 billion to $188 billion annually. Women provide the majority of informal care to spouses, parents, parents-in-law, friends, and neighbors, and they play many roles while caregiving—hands-on health provider, care manager, friend, companion, surrogate decision-maker and advocate….”

While thinking about this, I saw this in my Linkedin feed.

Would your workplace be as accommodating?

During October break, the day before we were meant to go to Legoland, I was diagnosed with breast cancer (we still went to Legoland, because, y’know, kids and life goes on etc). Prognosis is good and they are throwing everything but the kitchen sink at this, to ensure there’s a low chance of developing secondary cancer down the line (God bless the NHS!).

My first thought was ‘Will I lose all my hair?’ (Answer: Yes, it’s very likely but I’m persevering with the Cold Cap – wish me luck!). The second was ‘What are we going to do for money?’.

My husband, Simon, is in the process of setting up his own business so I’m currently the sole earner in the family. I got on the phone to my HR manager to see if we can come to an arrangement by which I can spread my paid-for sick and holiday leave over the course of treatment, should I feel too unwell to work.

What I got was a message from Robotical‘s CEO Alexander Enoch, reassuring me that the company will cover my full salary for the duration of chemo, no matter how much (or little) I’m able to work.

I broke down in tears. ‘Can we afford to do that?’ I asked. Robotical is a small start-up which     means budgets are extremely tight and every penny is accounted for. The response: ‘Health always comes first and we’re happy to be flexible around your needs here. We care more about    you than money, and having your full salary will take away at least a little of the stress.’

So there you have it, folks. I work for an organization that puts People before Profits and I could not be prouder.

I founded Money With Mission, to help you to be able to invest in assets that provide passive income that allows you to be able to be like Natalya from Robotical,  even if the company you work for does not support you as Robotical did. Our goal is to empower you and give you confidence that you can live the life you want because you have options provided by having passive income.

Being a doctor and surgeon will not exempt you from having financial stress. You may have a high income, but we must realize that we are trading time for dollars. If we stop running, we stop being paid.

It is time to take another look at how we earn our income. This does not mean that you have to quit the job you love. I recommend multiple streams of income so that you have the option to stop working for a prolonged period if you choose.

Having a passive income allows you to have these options. It is not as hard as you think. Like in medicine, sometimes you have to think about it a little differently.

Let me help you be prepared for what life may throw at you. Let’s talk!
